E L C A

25 years ago, I traveled to San Antonio, Texas to attend the first ELCA Youth Gathering.  This past weekend, I was privileged to attend the Northwestern Wisconsin synod assembly.

The singing was spectacular (lots of pastors in attendance) and the process of electing our new synod bishop was pretty exciting.  We cast five ballots with the final three being electronic vote casting.  The front runner in the first three rounds was eclipsed by another who was always strong, but never first place.  It will be interesting to see where our new bishop will lead us.

Eau Claire was the setting of the meeting and it was quite lovely.  Kim, Lori and I went for a walk along with river during a nice break in our day on Saturday.  I was wearing some really cute shoes, but probably should have thought of removing them before the blisters started appearing...not the smartest move, but hopefully a lesson well learned.

I am proud to be a member of the ELCA and hope that our children will have an opportunity to attend events such as the one I did this weekend.

Today was a fun day at school and home. Our class has been communicating with a class grandparent who drives a semi truck named trucker Bob....
