double ear infection

Our beautiful Katie was complaining of painful ears.I got her into the doctor and she had a double ear infection. Poor sweetheart!

To make her feel better, we went to get our nails done.

golden summer day

Today was one of the most beautiful days I’ve seen this summer. Sunny & warm temperatures dominated the day. We attended church, found a fun award presented to Osten at the end of his sixth grade year, had good meals, I cleaned floors and the bathroom, and Katie and I went to Stillwater to window shop. I got a chance to visit with Mom today and walk to the pinnacle of Hoffman Hill. 

Also got a chance to send Erica and Adam a Happy Anniversary wish!

My friend had a hard day today. Her former husband married again. A group of friends gathered together to surround her with love.

This morning I met Julie for a hike at Willow River. It was running so fast with all the rains we’ve been enjoying. Then we went to the Barbie movie in Hudson. It was very entertaining. 

Then home to have dinner at China Moon with Brad, Katie & Osten. Anders and Ally went to the Barbie movie. The kids and I walked home after dinner and I saw how Osten is getting closer in height to his big sister. 

I then walked to the university amphitheater to watch the Kids From Wisconsin perform. Now home and listening to the MN Twins play.

New to me hot pink shirt that I’ll wear to the Barbie movie tomorrow, a toasty walk around town and completion of a pantry set. 

While our friends Doug and Lynn were at our cabin this week, we discovered we had a matching piece to their flour, sugar, coffee and tea canisters…I found it under the sink holding a bottle of bleach! A cookie canister and we found the matching lid with the pots in the kitchen. Pretty cool discovery.

My rhubarb gin finished infusing and I invited friends over to the office to enjoy strawberry rhubarb gin and tonics. 

We had calico beans, potato salad & potato salad for dinner. Thanks Angie, Gretchen and Julie for hanging out with me!

closing up, saying farewell and home sweet home!

We packed up this morning saying farewell to the Stubbe’s and to our cabin for a few weeks. Before we left, we stopped by to visit with neighbor Dan and his daughter Tanya & her husband Rick. Tanya made fresh blue berry muffins. We had lunch at DQ in Ely and we’re home by 6:10pm. 

We got to see Anders and Katie…Katie made us brownies. Then Brad, Osten and I went out to Tarnation Tavern for dinner. Osten and I walked home to see the Twins lose to the Mariners. Now I’m showered up and ready to head to bed. Great Snowbank memories!

Brad, Lynn and I went on the motor boat on a tour of  Snowbank. The place where we camped with the Swansons was occupied and we went to a portage to Grub Lake. We found some very fresh bear droppings and climbed quite a bit to see a fabulously lovely small lake. We saw some bass swimming and found some tasty blue berries.

Next stop the portage to Beaver Pond and onto Boot Lake. Took a little stroll to see the dam and onto the Beaver Pond. We didn’t know the name so we named it Brad Pond. 

We got home, had lunch and then went out to swim/float. The day was perfect—-saw an Eagle 🦅 soaring and loons protecting their young. 

Then it was time for a short hike, dinner and s’mores. After this, we’ll playing some partner Cribbage and probably call it a day!

This morning Lynn and I went on a nice hike and picked some major service berries and blue berries. Brad and Doug are currently out fishing and Osten, Lynn and I went for a dip in the lake on inner tubes. Now I’m chilling in the hammock and will be reading my The First Ladies book.
