Started the day with my weekly Petra walk and ended the day at Bunco with Marci, Moni, Beth, Lisa, Nikki, Lindsey, Tessa, Sarah, Amanda, Rachel, Malinda, and myself. I won some reusable shopping bags, pins, stickers, wooden spoons. So very cool!

Now the Timberwolves are playing the Suns…hope they can take game 3! 

track meet #1 for Osten

A picture perfect day for an inaugural track meet for Osten! He did long jump and the mile run. Long jump 9’ 6” and mile run at 6:12. He looked like he was having a ton of fun which is the very best part. Go Osten!

preparing for baby

Summer and Ryan Blomgren are preparing for the arrival of their sweet firstborn baby in May. Here is a photo of their nursery with cradle made by my Dad, grandpa B! 

game 2 at Target Center

Katie, Osten and I traveled to Target Center this evening to see the Timberwolves face the Phoenix Suns in game 2 of the NBA western conference playoffs. It was pure magic! From entry with a deluge of people, to finding fresh T-shirts and towels at our seats, to cheering our favorite team on to victory. 

My friend Molly leant me her Jaden McDaniels shirt and he had a career leading night with 25 points and on point defense. We held NBA legend Kevin Durant and phenom Devin Booker to less than 100 points with a score of 105-93. The Wolves lead the series 2-0. Now they head to Phoenix for more games. 

Today was a fun day at school and home. Our class has been communicating with a class grandparent who drives a semi truck named trucker Bob. He stopped by with his rig today and everyone was able to hop in and pose for a photo. I got to too! 

Then I got home and made a meal from things I found cleaning out the cupboard! 

a little rearranging

This morning I was cleaning our kitchen and decided to move some things around and perform a good scrubbing of cupboards/getting rid of things we don’t use. I found several meals on the shelves and will get to cooking tomorrow. Here’s what it looks like now:

the Eagles and Timberwolves had great opening days

This morning Osten’s Carbonite team won their first game of the season 60-6. Osten caught a nice pass and was downed right at the goal. They are called the Eagles. 

The Timberwolves opened post season play beating the Phoenix Suns 120-95 at home. It’s best of 7 so we need to keep up the intensity.

I was able to visit with my charming nephew Vance at the wedding of Kyle and Paige this weekend. He asked if I had an aerial photo of the house we lived on St Croix. I found it on google maps and took a screen shot. Then I went back in photo archives to send a few photos from their visit. 

So fun to reflect! The last photo is a picture of a bay near our cabin. Looking like the way will be open soon for summer visits!

31 years ago my dear brother Cory married the enchanting Joan! Wishing you a lifetime of joy and happiness!

Tonight I met my friend Julie for some appetizers over in Hudson at Brick and Bourbon. So fun to catch up! 

growing every day

This guy and I can now share shoes. He grows a little every single day. He’s currently playing spring football and running track. I hope he falls in love with track and makes it a sports career! 
 

appointment day with the best Mom In America

Woke up on the home farm and had a nice breakfast with brother Kurt. Then off to Mountain Lake to pick Mom up for her cardiac and spine imaging appointments. We drove her Edge blasting 80s music. She did so well walking and navigating her day. Her heart has been working really hard for a long time and looks like it may be ready for retirement. That wasn’t the news I wanted to hear, but we’re keeping a positive attitude. Lunch at Wendy’s where she blew a straw wrapper at me and then we went to the Madison East Mall for imaging of her spine. She was treated to two warm blankets and was so very appreciative of the warmth. The techs all fell in love with Mom. 

I will cherish this day always. Thanks for always looking on the bright side of life Mom! 

is summer here?

What a beautiful past few days! The wedding yesterday was pretty incredible and today was quite lovely as well. Woke up well rested! Had lunch with Anders and Ally at Green Mill. Then I went to Cedar Creek park and hammocked & enjoyed a little nap. Went to HyVee for a piece of cake and coffee and then took the scenic route to Mountain Lake to spend time with Mom. 

Then went to Kyle and Kim’s for dinner and organizing family photos  and now at Kurt’s to spend the night. It’s been an absolutely lovely day.

In Fairmont, Paige and Kyle were married today! Many loved ones were there to celebrate their big day.
