happy Halloween

The first time We didn’t take our kids out trick or treating since 2001 (exception 2010 & 2020) for Anna Blomgren’s confirmation and Covid. Osten was a clone trooper and we hosted his buddies Coulter, Spencer and Wil for burgers and chips. They went trick or treating as middle schoolers.

walk with Julie & time for a haircut

My dear friend Julie traveled to RF to go on a walk. Then we walked downtown and watched the movie ticket to paradise. It was a fun and fulfilling afternoon.

and handsome Osten got a haircut

big day in EC!

We had a big day in Eau Claire! Met Anders and Lindsey at a sweet little restaurant called Chick-a-dees family restaurant. Then to Carson Park to watch the first half of the Blugold football game versus Stevens Point and Anders with the Blugold Marching Band. They are so exciting to watch.

Next up was North High School to watch the River Falls High School girls swim team and Katie at the Big  Rivers Conference meet. She swam for two relays that both placed second and two individual events 2nd and 3rd place finishes.

Her 200 Medley Relay placed 2nd with time of 2:01.47 swimmers Rilee Smith 34.20 Katie Olson 33.59, Elise Gullick 29.57 and Ellery Ottem 24.11

Her 200IM placed 2nd with time 2:21.24 splits 30.15, 36.20, 40.45 and 34.44.

Her 200 free relay placed 2nd with Katie Olson 27.67, Annie Ottem 29.27, Elise Gullick 27.29 and Ellery Ottem 23.87 overall time 1:48.10

Tonight, Osten and I drove to Osceola to visit grandpa at the hospital. He looked so good! Good conversation and he seemed just like himself at the lake.

home again!

We are home again after a very memorable vacation to Nashville. So good to see Osten, Katie and Brad. I got up at 2:45am to catch a flight home. Brad picked me up at 10am and then I got home to take a nap, clean house, do laundry and plan for the week.

Osten went to a church event at White Pine Berry Farm and Katie went to time at a swim meet. Brad had a call committee meeting and got the gutters cleaned of leaves as rain is expected tonight.

I’m eager to head back to school this week and am happy to report that Anthony Edwards had a great game and the Timberwolves won tonight!

happy birthday Sarah!

A big reason my group of friends chose to visit Nashville was to celebrate friend Sarah Noreen’s 50th birthday. So fun.

Morning Farmers Market and a nice walk around Germantown and then lunch/dinner at Layer Cake restaurant and then last night going around Broadway.

Especially enjoyed the recession special, a fried bologna sandwich, bag of chips, moon pie and can of PBR for $6!

Back to the air BNB early 9:30pm as Sharyl and I needed to get ready for our early morning flight (out the door at 3am)

final home meet of the season

Tonight was our final home meet of the season. The Wildcats defeated Menomonie. Katie swam 2 relays that got first and also won her 100 butterfly and 100 breast stroke.

Ellery ended up setting two new pool records…she gave it her everything as her final swim in the 400 free relay was sower than normal.

These swimming Wildcat Women are phenomenal.

Looks like the Wildcats are Big Rivers conference champs!

color

These lovely colors at this time of year…wow! Yesterday I stopped to see friend Julie and daughter Libby as she was preparing for her homecoming dance. This morning Katie and I stopped for coffee in Taylor’s Falls at Coffee Talk and I couldn’t resist taking a photo of the sweet little shop. The view out our front window is just breathtaking, don’t you agree?

It’s just a lovely time to enjoy the colors God created.

Osten had a touchdown today at his season ending game. Sweet and bitter, but more sweet than bitter. He’s feeling pretty good about things overall.
