feeling the birthday love

I got to see and spend time with all three of my children either yesterday or today. Anders surprised me with a visit today. We watched the Vikings lose to the Seahawks, had dinner with Ally and now are cozy around the fire. I received many texts, a few calls, lots of posts on Facebook wishing me a wonderful birthday and year. One of my students even sent a video. I’m feeling the love. 

snowed in

We were planning on heading to Vance’s for Blomgren Thanksgiving but a huge storm descended on Mankato. 

We stayed at Katie’s place until we checked in to our hotel just a block from her place. Osten and I went swimming and we three watched college football games. The Gophers won Paul Bunyans ax. 

At Katie’s we watched Stranger Things and installed drapes in her room to help with the super drafty window. I love spending time with our favorite daughter! 

Black Friday!

We got started later than normal and just stayed in Mankato, but we had a fun Black Friday. Christian, Brad and Osten joined us in the afternoon. We put plastic on Katie’s bedroom window which made a huge difference in the temperature of her room. Thank goodness for innovation! 

Dinner at Jake’s pizza and then to the movie Wicked for Good. 

Thanksgiving

Whirlwind day of driving to Grantsburg to celebrate at Sharon’s. Then Katie and drove to Mankato so she could work. I hung out at her apartment, went on a lovely walk, and did some cleaning, did my newsletter and some report cards. Then I picked up Katie and we started the final season of Stranger Things.

On the first day of Thanksgiving break, I was able to attend the Pat Benatar & Bryan Adams concert with Julie and Trish. Really great musicianship and experience!

Our beautiful Katie came home from college today! What a thrill. She showered and is getting settled in to her warm, cozy bed. I am winding down after a short week at school and some dedicated decorating time. Here are a few pictures so far…

starting to dress up the house for Christmas

Went to the compost site and my friend Kim’s house to get my planter dressed for the holiday season. We’ll see what it looks like in the daylight. Looks like our house may need some attention with peeling paint. 

what a day

Memorable day seeing the Vikings at Lambeau field. We got to watch the team run onto the field for warm ups, got a wave from Adam Thielen when I called go Mavericks (our mutual college team), jumped around, enjoyed a foot long hotdog compliments of trucker Bob and ran into all the River Falls people I knew who were going to be at the game. Sara F, Jen M, Dez & Taylor and Todd R had all made the trek from River Falls. We stayed warm and saw a pretty tough loss by the Vikings. We had

a great time though!
