Michael Carlson, one of my classmates at BOHS died of a massive heart attack on September 11. As far as I know, he is the second classmate to pass away. The first Brian Schlomann also died of a heart attack.

A very loveable dog has been hanging at our house this week and next. King Luis has captured our hearts before he goes home to Virginia to live with Bruce and Julie.

Hanging out at the Mueller’s place, getting Wordle in two rounds and a fire in the Solo Stove, been a great day. 

first four days of school in the books

The first four days of school are down. It was a long week and I hope two days of the weekend will be enough of a rest 😎. The River Falls Wildcat football team lost handily to the Hudson Raiders. The Raiders went home with the little brown jug.

The weather was picture perfect, I’d love to enjoy another day just like this one! 

I received some funny pictures from Ally if she and Anders meeting a parrot in Eau Claire. I think it’s pretty funny…

another missing post from August 16

I don't know what's up, but a couple of posts either became drafts or went missing from our blog...maybe I'm just losing it a bit. 

On the 16th, we attended the MN Twins game with Brad’s cousin Ian, visiting from DC, Ibby, Mike & Betty. Fun game where the Twins blew a 4-0 lead, but it was still quite exciting.

We’re home again and preparing for our transition back into the school year.Katie is a senior, Osten and 7th grader, Anders a senior in college and I an 11th year teacher at RFPME. 

The sun was gone at 8…the dragon flies we’re having a heyday eat mosquitoes. I dried a line of clothing in just 6 hours with the strong wind and hot temps (mid 90s). Summer is coming to an end and it’s exciting.

Today Osten had his first ever tackle football scrimmage. Unfortunately he didn’t see any playing time. He’s very mature and said “I’ll ask my coaches about it”. 

Love that kids like crazy. 

On the bright side, we got his 7th grade pictures digitally today! He’s growing up!
