veteran's day

Thank you to all the Veteran's who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of our country.  The land of the free and home of the brave.

In church, a woman introduced the song God Bless America to the congregation and also talked about how the song writer, Irving Berlin was born in Russia and immigrated to the United States as a young man due to religious persecution.  He wrote the song in 1918 and in the 1930s rewrote the song as a prayer when the Nazi party was advancing in Europe.  The song was so powerful and made me realize just how lucky I am to live here and to have been born here.
