Halloween 2025

It started out early with a rainy walk, a lovely breakfast, a speedy school day, a hike to the River Falls lookout, then home to carve pumpkins. 

Osten went out trick or treating with friends and Brad and I are at home eating Jimmy John’s and passing candy to about 12 trick or treaters. We’re also watching the River Falls Wildcats win round 2 of the football play off game versus LaCrosse Central. The Grantsburg Pirates defeated Durand in a super close game—GO HENRY! 

 Osten will have a sleepover at his buddy Gabe’s place.

I don’t know how I missed posting about my paddle on Oct 19. It was a bucket filler for sure! Thank you God for creating such a beautiful world. 

affirmation of baptism

Today, Osten affirmed his baptism at Ezekiel Lutheran with his 11 classmates. His sponsors, Kent, Kurt and Eden attended. So did Grandma Betty, Grandpa Bud, Katie, Christian, Ibby, Mike, Dehlia, Molly, Cory, Joan, Nate, Micah, Brad and Karen. 

We hosted at our house after the service. It was a terrific day! 

exhausting day cleaning and cooking but so worth it

I got up early and walked with my friend Petra. Then it was beast mode preparing to host family tomorrow for Osten’s confirmation. It’s been YEARS since we hosted at our house. Got a work out in, the gardens put to bed, our bed converted to flannel sheets and duvet, laundry, spaghetti sauce making and some vacuuming, dusting and dishes. My body is tired, but invigorated!
