Today was a perfect day weather wise. I got to finish a book and start a new one in the hammock. Also did some night driving with Osten ❤️

Taking it easy after the big fun weekend. Doing some mosaic at my friend Lisa’s place. This will be a garden stepping stone.

It was the most beautiful weather of all three days. Really enjoyed Dope Lemon through the Strokes. We had a great spot where we could just sit on our blanket and turn around to see the other band.

mn yacht club festival

My dear friend Kim took me to another amazing music festival on Harriet Island in St. Paul. The MN Yacht festival had enormous crowds and the weather was hot and sticky, but the music was fantastic with two stages playing one right after the other. My favorite act of the night was the Lumineers. The lead singer walked through the crowd and I was able to touch his shoulder. 

We’re heading back tomorrow for more good music.

Yesterday I saw our dear nephew outside practicing for his state all star game today…hopefully this wildfire outbreak can get under control! The other photos are gorgeous photography borrowed from another source of the current conditions in the BWCA. Also saw photos of our lovely niece Liana announcing her engagement to Zac! Congratulations to you both! 

Lastly I was inspired to drive in to Minneapolis to an independent bookstore called Birchbark Books. This store is amazing. The energy alone was awe inspiring. Pulitzer Prize winning author Louise Erdrich is the owner and operator. I ended up purchasing several of her books to read aloud to my class and some for a newly born baby. I will be back!

Started the day very early to beat the heat on a walk with Michelle and Sarah. Our nephew, Henry is here in town practicing for the Wisconsin State All Star game. The area around our cabin had to be evacuated today due to wildfires in the area. Thinking of all the people displaced and the people who are fighting the fires.
