65 years ago today and a new couple starting their journey

Clarence and Vivian were married 65 years ago today. I also learned today that their grand daughter Liana was proposed marriage on Monday and agreed! 

Liana and Zac will be married next summer.

great summer day

It started out pretty hot, but spent a large part of the afternoon reading in my hammock. Spent time playing cribbage with Brad and talking on the phone with my beautiful friend Ivy. The US lost their soccer game vs. Belgium, but World Cup is still super fun to watch!

We are enjoying the after glow of a really lovely Celebration of the US and their Declaration of Independence 

semiquincentennial

The day has arrived! Osten and I started the day by running the Freedom 5K. 

Osten finished at 26:36 placing 11th in his age group. I finished 33:06 placing 21st in my age group. 

I ran the entire time other than to take a little water at about the half way mark. Osten ran the whole way! It felt great and the weather was pretty much perfect. 

We had yummy snacks—bagel, peanut butter, banana, egg bites, a honey bee from cross hatch and my friend Lynn handed me a Gatorade at the two mile mark.

sweet summer days

Boy, I’m really enjoying July so far. Lots of good exercise on the 2nd and a huge raspberry harvest. A good new book, making a tasty healthy lunch, Osten making money from dog sitting Luis and brother Kurt celebrating US 250 at his office in St. Paul. 

hello July, is it me you’re looking for?

Beautiful start to July. Way cooler and more comfortable weather wise. Did my workout, did my start of the month hike, went shopping with my friend Teri and now are hosting Bruce and Julie for dinner…they are bringing pasta. My friend Angie Bond brought a shirt that she thought I would like. Friends are the best!
