Thanks to Molly, Brent, Siri and Ivan for hosting the Olson
kids while Brad and I enjoyed an anniversary get away to St. Paul/Minneapolis!
We met Brent and kids at Jordan McDonalds on Saturday morning and the three kids drove off with them while Brad and I headed to Matt's Bar in Minneapolis for a famous Jucy Lucy burger. We then drove to the American Swedish Institute for a tour of the beautiful mansion and grounds.
Our next stop was the St. Paul Hotel where we relaxed and made reservations at the Heartland Restaurant for 7pm which was within walking distance. To dinner where we enjoyed locally grown food including: Warm smoked lake fish salad/wild rice/purple beans/arugula sprouts/lake cisco caviar dressing, Grass fed Limousin beef roast/baby cabbage/leeks/sour cherry glace de viande,
Dark chocolate torte/rosemary caramel sauce/strawberry mousse/ praline crunch . We shared a bottle of Syrah and a cup of french pressed coffee. After dinner, we walked down by the Mississippi River and placed some pennies on the railroad track to bring home a momento for the kids.
