This morning dawned and I just knew it was going to be great. I slept 8 1/2 hours again and got a chance to go to 10:45 church. We had lunch at Juniors with Emma as our server. Then we drove to Frederic to see Grandpa Bud in the nursing home and watch the Vikings game. We left during the 4th quarter, having pizza dinner at Wilkins on Bone Lake. We got to see the finale of the game and the Vikings won 23-7! Now we’re home and getting ready for a great school week. 

Apple harvest, art fair, bean work and Osten’s football game

Our Saturday was pretty busy with Brad harvesting our apple trees, Karen going to the Art on the Kinni with friend Lynn, getting a photo of Grandma B preparing g beans with Kim and Osten’s football team winning 26-14. Super fun day!

On Friday night, Katie, Osten and I ate dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. Then Osten and I went to the River Falls/Hudson game in Hudson. The Wildcats had a great game winning 27-14 over Hudson, getting the Little Brown Jug back to River Falls. A preschool friend of Katie’s had a really spectacular game. 

whirlwind trip to Chip

After school, I drove to meet this handsome guy as he finished up marching band practice. He needed his passport for employment paperwork. 

Then I drove to Chippewa Falls to see Katie swim her way to two relays and two individual events. One relay for 2nd and the other 1st . She placed first in both of her individual events. The Wildcats won the meet 90-80! 

The 200 Medley relay placed first with Annie Ottem, Katie, Elise Gullick and Ellery Ottem with a time of 2:02.47 splits 34.07, 33.97, 29.56 and 24.86 

The 200IM 1st place splits 32.14, 36.48, 40.92 & 34.45 total time: 2:23.99

The 200 freestyle relay placed 2nd with Katie, Annie Ottem, Elise Gullick & Ellery Ottem total time 1:50.42. Splits 27.77, 29.89, 27.40, 25.36. 

Katie’s 100breast she placed first with a time of 1:14.42. Splits were 34.8 & 39.62

Katie is enjoying her junior year on the River Falls High School swim team. Tomorrow I get to see her swim in Chippewa Falls. It will be her 3rd meet of the season, but my first to see her swim. She's swimming two relays--the 200 Free and 200 Medley and the 200IM and 100 Breast.

first day of duty and school for Anders

Anders had his first night of RA duty last night and first day of Junior year at UW Eau Claire today. Go Anders go!

Mom is headed to the farm and to Kurt’s beautiful home. It was so great to spend time with her and I hope her blood sugar can stabilize and she can return to normal activities Asap. 

hospital days

It’s been quite a week for hospitals and our family. Bud has been at Abbott since August 25 when he had a double bypass and a valve replacement. 

My Mom has been in the St. James area hospital twice this past week with unstable blood sugar. She’s been there since her birthday as they kept her for observation of her blood sugar and to get her to a place where she can avoid another ambulance ride. Her blood sugar counts have been kind of all over the place still under observation and good eating amounts. Prayers for stable blood sugar! 

Happy news is I got to spend time with her as I came down to visit. Also spending time with my twin brothers who are about to turn 60 on the 19th. Also spending time with sister in law Eden. Right now I’m spending the night at Moms apartment and then will be heading over to the hospital to hear her consultation with Dr. Then the family will need to make decisions about home care or assisted living.

day one of my 10th year at RFPME

A fun first day at RFPME! Lots of energy and smiles. Then Osten and I went to the Wildcat game versus New Richmond. We won 25-19 in overtime! Osten hung out with friends as did Katie and I got to sit near my friend Angie Bond. It was lots of fun! 

#87 and first day of middle school and Junior year

My beautiful mother is 87 today. 

Our handsome son started middle school, grade 6 today

Our gorgeous daughter started her Junior year today
