planet word, Frederick Douglass, National Portrait Gallery and another amazing dinner

We started the day on the Metro and visited a great museum recommended by my friend, Karen called Planet Word. We learned about the origin of the English language, saw books come to life and learned about foreign languages.

Next, we hung out at our place, I wrote postcards and took a walk around the neighborhood. Then Ian picked us up and we visited the Frederick Douglass estate and learned about his life. Following that, we visited the National Portrait gallery to see presidential portraits.

The finale was dinner at Maketto…an Asian market about a mile away. Another mind blowing evening of feasting.

I finished my postcards and will be heading to bed soon.

The presidents are Pierce and Taylor…Brad and the kids’ long lost relatives.
