learning every day

Today a second grader named Maya was reading to me. She was reading about the life cycle,  or she called it circle, of Monarch butterflies. She added some of her own knowledge when I was checking for comprehension.

I learned that Monarch butterflies have adapted to lay eggs and make their chrysalis on poisonous milkweed plants. They also consume the plant to make themselves safe from predators when they are in the precarious state of turning into a butterfly. I love when I learn something new! Thanks Maya!
