drying out on a sunny day!

So wonderful to wake up to a sunny day! We’re drying out tents, sleeping mats and airing out some sheets 

Katie left yesterday with the Swansons, but Osten and I got home at 8:22. The Twins are currently beating the Oriels and I just got home from a 2 mile walk! So good to be home! Brad will be leaving early tomorrow morning as he wanted to make sure everything was dried out and ready for a 3 week break from our family. 

started out sunny ended up thunder storming!

 

Took us about 2 1/2 hours to paddle to our campsite on Snowbank. We got set up and then started to get settled in...then the skies opened up and poured on us! We hung out in our tents. We emerged to have dinner of a Ramen Bomb. Then Isaiah and I did a little exploring of the campsite and saw a great view from above. 

Shortly after that, we retired to our tents and got a great night's sleep!

We’ve been enjoying our downtime while the skies pours rain pretty much all day. So much more comfortable here than in a tent! Played several games of cribbage and Kings in the Corner and telling stories. Took some photos of interesting artifacts that I will be asking Dorothy about when I write a letter.

We’re just leaving for a camping night. More to come.

We left River Falls this morning and arrived at the cabin. We are now sitting and visiting with Bruce, Julie and Betty. Katie and Isaiah are out for a canoe paddle and Osten is watching some YouTube videos. 

We stopped at a park in Ely and saw some really lovely wildlife and statues. 

the Pierson’s reunite

Nels and Annie Pierson had a whole lot of people attend the 2023 Pierson reunion. 21 of 22 cousins were there!

It rained a little, blew a little and a lot of good conversation and food!

This morning, I was returning from my workout and saw this beauty on the side of our house. Google was able to help identify the name…it’s a Mourning Cloak butterfly! 

I snuck in a hike last night as Katie was at work…

and today I spent some time cleaning and rearranging as I purchased a new area rug from Treasures
