So today was a warm warm day--a day that I went outdoors with just a poncho after school. In just a few short hours, the winter solstice will descend upon the northern hemisphere. The sun will rise at 7:45 am tomorrow after setting this evening at 4:32 pm.
In Quito Ecuador the sun will rise at 6:08am and set at 6:17pm.
In North Pole, Alaska--the sun will rise at 10:55am and set at 2:40pm.
I love how our 15 year old pointed out that from now on, the daylight hours will be increasing where they were really decreasing in summer and autumn. I love that perspective.
