library evening

On Wednesdays, Brad and A have confirmation so K, O and I went to the River Falls Public library. It's so wonderful to spend time at the library together.

ski club cancelled

K was unable to go to ski club on Tuesday night because the temps were too low. Based on the predicted weather pattern, it looks like it may be cancelled again this coming week. She and A did go swimming though is a very nice warm pool area.

As I went to pick up K and A was entering the pool, I watched the RF Boys Basketball team play and was able to see two of my students play at halftime. It's great to see them active and on a team.

grommit

The little dog we've be watching for our neighbor's Charlie and Nancy is a delight. Today is our last day with him and we will miss his sweet cuddling skills. I don't think Brad will miss giving him walks on frosty temp days, but he sure has a sweet way about him.

working on the new room

Last night when I got home, Grandpa Bud was here helping Brad with electrical work for K's new bedroom downstairs. They had also installed some metal framework for walls. They are working so hard and finding some challenges along the way. I will be taking photos and uploading as progress is made.

cold snap

On our drive back from LaCrosse yesterday, the temperature dropped down to 3 degrees Farenheit. The current temperature is -5 Farenheit. It makes it fun to walk Grommet.

conference time

On Friday night, our staff traveled to LaCrosse Wisconsin for a Montessori conference. It was so fun to hang out with my staff and bond over dinner. Thanks Chantel for taking and sharing the photo.

restorative justice

On Thursday, our staff was invited to circle training called Restorative Justice. The premise is that a circle of people are called and through listening, respecting, taking turns and trusting the circle, relationships can be made and strengthened and harm can be repaired. It was a nice training with a really strong leader.

As K, O and I are watching the Peoples Choice Awards, we're realizing we think the same boys are cute. Thor from Avengers makes K's dimples glisten.

star wars fever

The kids and I saw the Force Awakens again on Sunday. Even better the second time around. We have been watching the original series here on VHS and the special effects were pretty impressive even 30+ years ago. I feel like a little kid again watching them all.

junior bridesmaid

Sweet K was invited to be a junior bridesmaid by a lovely Kyeanna and handsome Stuart. Seems like just yesterday when we asked Stu to be our ring bearer! They gave her a sweet little purse and two bottles of nail polish. Their colors are navy blue and gold. We are to look for a dress that's navy blue and preferably long. Shoes are to be nude in color. We are looking forward to the shopping adventure.

another new item...

We picked up a new couch on Saturday. It's a beauty, but it's much larger than advertised on Craigs List. We ended up having to take apart a window in our living room to get the couch into our living room. We had planned on having two couches and then quickly realized it would look like college housing with the couches jammed into place. We were looking for an uncluttered room and were looking at a very cluttered canvas. So the old couch made its way out and we are enjoying the new couch and its comfort.
