This weekend was a very crafty one for Brad, K and A.  Brad asked the two what they really like for breakfast and they responded with cinnamon rolls and bagels so he encouraged them to make them for the family.  K has always enjoyed helping with such tasks, but I believe A also enjoyed trying his turn at the culinary arts.

A ended up making rolls for this morning's breakfast and K helped Brad make bagels for last night's dinner/breakfasts throughout the week.

Brad also rendered fat to make leaf lard.  He is a little overwhelmed by the amount that has been created, but we are planning on using for cookies/pies/other pastries in the years to come ;)

another routine day

The River Ramblers 4-H turned in a blue ribbon performance at the Pierce County Cultural Arts Extravaganza this weekend.  Sharyl S was a dynamo in direction, Jeremy O was a rock star at making a movie of the performance and the kids shined like stars!

A ended up winning a Clover Oscar for outstanding performance.  He is such a ham.  K thought she should also win an award, but its just something to strive for in the future.

11A

A will be playing baseball very soon for the River Falls 11A team.  We did just get a message saying that the team is in need of a head coach.  I forwarded the message to Brad to see if he would be interested/able.  We shall see how invested our family will become.

A finished up his swimming season last night with fun night at the pool.  He enjoyed playing water polo with the big kids.  It was a great experience for him.

One year ago, Kurt, Vance, Stuart and Ross came to visit our family on the big island.  We had so much fun exploring together.  Their visit is something I will remember forever.  

hands on learning

O loves trains.  He was in his element the other day in school when he was able to play at the train table with his beloved playthings.  He makes such interesting car/truck/train noises.

When Brad took him into school this morning, O made his sweet little race car sound and scurried right into the room. 

number 7 for the 7 year old

K has a new grin--she pulled out tooth number seven while dining on pizza Saturday night.  She is such a tough little bird!

daylight saving time

 The first few mornings are pretty brutal, but I was blown away that it was still light out last night at 7:15pm after our 4-H meeting.  That part is pretty unbelievable.
