Little stroll

Today after school, Osten, Katie and I went for short stroll in our neighborhood. Due to the really narrow roads, we really didn't go very far, but we did find a neighbor that I really wasn't aware of in close proximity. The vegetation between our two places is very wild, so there wouldn't be a way of telling by just looking out our backyard. It is very jungle like and Katie also made that observation.

There's no place like home...

Anders is starting to get homesick. He wishes he could be back in River Falls playing football and hanging out with friends. He misses his cousin Ryqn very much and thinks he should go back while we continue to live here. This morning he had it all planned out at breakfast that he could live with Grandma and Grandpa like he did when Brad and I went to Spain.

I'm hoping he will realize what an incredible opportunity we have while we are here and not regret enjoying the experience when we get home.

MN state fair care package

We received a wonderful MN state fair care package from Kim, Kyle, Adam, Kyle, Liana and Ryan. Mustard and ketchup flavored lip gloss, gander mountain fish hats, reusable shopping bags, cool commemorative coins and great notes. Makes me miss our wonderful family all the more, but I know we will have a great visit when we are home for Christmas. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Blomgren's.

Speaking of Christmas, we have made travel plans and should be home for just over 2 weeks. Now we will just have to find new and unusual artifacts to bring back for everyone.

We will fly in to Minneapolis on Brad's 39th birthday and come back to the island of January 6.

Head lice stink

Today Kathryn and I were diagnosed with head lice along with 3 others in our class. Reading about it online, makes me realize what a horrible problem it is. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Last night Kathryn invited us all to a lovely ball. We rode in royal carriages, were guests at the ball in our front yard ball field...Siri and Ian were among the various fictional characters who attended the ball

marathon day

If we we're still living in Wisconsin, I would be at my friend Trish's house right now and we would be heading towards the starting gate of the Twin Cities marathon. I wish Trish, and two other friends, Mark and Cate the very best for safe, healthy and fast race.

Happy October

First day of October today. The weather here in St. Croix currently is 81 with heat index of 87. Dew point is 76 and humidity is 85 percent. The wind is coming from the east at 8mph and there is 10 miles of visibility. The anticipated high for the day is a heat index of 99 from 12-2pm.

In comparison, the temperature in River Falls is currently 30 and the anticipated high for the day is 61. If we were back in River Falls, I would be getting ready to run the Twin Cities marathon tomorrow. I'm so excited for Trish, Cate and Mark who will be running tomorrow. I hope next year it will work out.

Temper temper

Osten is starting to assert himself by throwing miniature temper tantrums. Back arching in his high chair, throwing himself down when you set him down. Pushing himself around on the floor after throwing himself down. He's a strong little person and he's just building those muscles even stronger every time he throws a tantrum.

He is such a delightful child though. His caregivers always comment "were all your children this easy?". I think and remember the answer is YES...everyone has their moments, but our kids have been a delight to live with.
