metro, Native American museum, Holocaust museum & Air B&B

The Metro had an in anticipated event with a lane closure so we missed our time at the Bureau of engraving and printing. We headed to the Native American Museum, had yummy lunch and then headed to the Holocaust Museum.

We saw some beautiful art and were amazed at the acts of people who thought killing an entire group of people was justified. I hope we learn from these heinous acts. Brad rented a little lime bike and we had a wonderful DC adventure.

Brad bought a new pair of sandals at the local REI and then we moved our stuff from Ian and Shannon’s to a sweet little Air B & B just down a few blocks down the street. We went back to Ian and Shannon’s for dinner and are now getting comfy and watching a little Napoleon Dynamite.

White House, capital building and west wing day

Big day touring super famous buildings today. Highlights the capital building tour with Shannon and seeing the intelligence hearing room where she works, seeing Bernie Sanders, riding the senate trains, seeing the crypt room and seeing senators offices. The west wing tour was the best of all though. It was beautiful and impressive.

whirlwind day

What an amazing day. We landed after 11pm last night at the Dulles airport & arrived at Ian & Shannon’s place at about 1:30 after waiting for our luggage.

Woke up at 9am to a yummy breakfast and then headed to Baltimore for an Orioles game. Best ballpark food ever with a crab, Mac and cheese hotdog. The Orioles won 11-2 on a drizzly Father’s Day.

Back to home base and we’ll eat pizza and watch movies tonight. So incredibly excited for a cozy evening in.
