Up early on the 19th and packed up the Dodge with our gear to head to the BWCA. The Weaver-Olsons joined us. We drove north, had lunch at Minong A & W, drove through Duluth--waved hello to the Kyle Blomgren family who were running Grandma's Marathon. We arrived in Grand Marais at about 5pm where we checked into our hotel. Off to the lakefront where we ordered Sven and Ole's Pizza and explored the lighthouse area. Early bedtime so we could depart the hotel at 5am and get a camping spot early on the 20th as rain was forecasted for 10am on the 20th.
