Anders went to pick up Lindsey and we all left our house at 6:15am. We traveled up the Wisconsin side to Duluth and then headed north on 61 to Grand Marais where we wanted to eat a Sven and Ole's but they had altered hours to due to the pandemic so we ate at a street vendor and at a little spot that had breakfast items. We spent a little time admiring Superior and then hit the Gun Flint Trail. We got to the Blankenburg Landing, unloaded our 3 canoes from the truck, loaded them with our gear and headed to search for a campsite on Sea Gull Lake.
After a few hours of paddling, we arrived at our final destination. We were getting a little dejected and thought we should camp on a little island without a campsite when we rounded a bend and found our little spot.
Katie and Lindsey's tent was farthest back to the right. Anders and my tent was on the left (Anders and Osten switched sleeping spots every night). Brad and Osten's tent was in the middle towards the front of camp. We got settled in, had dinner of pizza tortillas (very yummy) and turned in for the night. The sleeping mats we borrowed from Nate were extremely comfortable. We did get a thunderstorm overnight so our tents had a little moisture, but the day was nice and sunny to dry everything out.
