Today we took Osten and Katie to their first Twins game at Target Field. Katie had been to the Metrodome years ago, but Osten had never been to a professional baseball game. We were in for a treat! We saw three homeruns (complete with fireworks) and the Twins sweep the Baltimore Orioles in a 4 game series in the final game. The Twins had 10 runs and the Orioles 1. The Orioles score was on a solo homerun in the top of the 9th inning.
I also happened to run into my college roommate and friend, Ann Pardo and her family. They were sitting 5 rows behind us. It was military day at the park so we got 1/2 price seats in the 3rd deck right behind home plate. There was plenty of shade, so we had perfect spots.
After the game, Ann encouraged us to have the kids run the bases--a tradition after every Sunday home game. Our kids were less than enthusiastic, but we loved going with them down to the field.
We rode the light rail to the game and on our way back to our car, decided to eat dinner at Manny's, a fancy steak place in the first floor of the Foshay Tower. What a perfect day!
