long days and short nights

I love summertime--I'm going to document the length of daylight versus the length of darkness as I tend to forget how good we have it when December rolls around.  5:25am sunrise and 9:01 sunset 15 hours 35 minutes and 18 seconds of sunlight.

I am a bit melancholy and reflective today as one of our delightful college students was dealt a cruel blow yesterday.  His 51 year old father was killed in a motorcycle accident--an apparent collision with a wolf in Western Wisconsin.  Max is going to grow up in short order.
