new heart

So my dear cousin Andy had a heart transplant a week ago. His care team recommended a transplant a few years ago. He declined as his Dad had a transplant and regretted the decision because of the medication required for anti-rejection. Nels lived at least 13 years post surgery, so it’s hard to imagine regretting the decision, but I didn't live his story.

Fast forward a few years and Andy had a blood clot on his brain in early December and when forced to decide, he agreed to be on the transplant list.

He composed a message to our cousin group this evening and shared that he is looking well and may be cleared to go home—less than two weeks from his transplant surgery! God is good and does answer prayers.

Super thankful we are able enjoy nature during our school day.
