it came upon a midnight clear

So after the basketball game, I decided to start decorating for Christmas. I planned on doing just a little at a time. However, the hassle of taking things down from the attic, moving things from our pantry to get to the attic and the fun of finding so many treasures motivated me to keep going. Tomorrow I will finish lighting the tree and Christmas village. I just don’t have enough gas in the tank to finish this morning. It might be a rusty morning tomorrow because typically I would have been in bed 2 1/2 hours ago, but it sure looks pretty…

b team win!

 

#1 on the 7th grade B team captivated us this evening with solid point guard skills and 4 points including a buzzer beater at the end of the 3rd quarter. The team played really well together and it’s so fun to see how well they communicate and how much they’ve grown over the past several months. 

didn’t go down without a fight

The Vikings and Bears had a pretty slow Monday night football game with mostly field goals and interceptions. Josh Dobbs did throw a touchdown to TJ Hockenson late in the 4th quarter to make it 10-9. The Bears lead a drive for a field goal to make it 12-10. Ten seconds remained and the Vikings ran it to the 35 on the kickoff. Then they tried a funny backward pass play to make a touchdown. It was amusing, but not successful. Oh well…it was the best part of the game! 

So far I’ve done a little indoor decorating for Christmas…

great way to end the weekend

We had a wonderful day starting off meeting Brent and Ike for breakfast at NaKato after getting our coffee from the Coffee Hag. 

Then we drove to St. James to pick up Mom and drove her to the Pizza Ranch where she hosted 26 adults, 1 Senior Citizen, a five year old, two three year olds, a 2 year old and a 10 month old to a delicious meal. We had so much fun chatting and laughing. 

Those in attendance: Mom, Kent, Eden, Anna, Kurt, Jenna, Cody, Collins, Hayes, Vance, Kaitie, Luella, Kyeanna, Kesleigh, Beckham, Kyle, Kyle Jr., Paige, Adam, Liana, Ryan, Summer, Cory, Joan, Thomas, Evan, Trenton, Karen, Brad, Anders, Ally and Osten. Missing were Kim and Erica who were attending a shower in Shakopee. Also missing from the whole weekend were Abby, Katie and Stuart. Hopefully we can all be together in December!

Many Blomgrens, a few Hausers, a few Olsons and a Gross all are gathering to celebrate Thanksgiving in Mankato today. Here are a few pictures of the day:

The snow fell, games were played, pizza and snacks were shared, uncle Vance had luck in a crane game near the pool, kiddos swam, Katie's senior pictures were viewed, a wedding shower was planned, Kesleigh lost a tooth and the joy of generations was felt. Thank you Mom for hosting your children at the Holiday Inn! 

in the wee hours of the morning…

Ibby, Katie and I traveled from Grantsburg to Roseville for our annual Black Friday shopping experience. We shopping til we dropped and I got most of the items on my list. There are a few things to get yet, but I’m happy with how it all turned out.

We had a lovely meal at Ibby’s Mother In Laws house and then went for a nice 4 mile hike to the river! Great for the digestion! 

oh what a lovely day

Started the day at home in River Falls with our three kids at home. Then I got my exercising done by taking a fair amount of the yard and setting up Christmas decor outdoors. Then we packed up for Grantsburg for Thanksgiving. On our way, we stopped at the Watershed Cafe in Osceola for lunch and hiking. We saw a lovely view of falls, the St. Croix and of the city of Osceola. 

We arrived at the lake and spent time with Bud and Betty for dinner. I left the kids at the lake and headed up to the shack to spend the night with Brad. We played some cribbage and will soon be settling in for the evening.
