cabin time

Last night after school, Osten and I hopped in the Prius and headed to Snowbank to meet Brad and Betty for the weekend. Brad and Betty arrived on Thursday and got everything opened up and settled in.

Osten and I stopped for dinner in North Branch and enjoyed KFC. Then we stopped in Cloquet for Aldi groceries and gas. As we traveled, we listens to the Wildcat Homecoming game. They defeated Chippewa Falls team 28-27…so fun to listen to! Then we arrived at the landing at 9:45 where Brad was waiting to pick us up and drive us to the cabin in our boat.

Dorothy had a sweet little lantern she would put out in the dock to welcome guests and Brad put it on the end of the dock last night. It was so welcoming!

I slept well, got up this morning and had yogurt, granola and berries and coffee. Read a little and then went for a beautiful long hike to Flash Lake and to a hiking campsite off the Snowbank trail.

Back to the cabin to help get an old fridge out and a new used fridge in. It wasn’t pretty nor easy, but we broke a step on the deck, a seat in the boat but it’s in place. Brad will set it up tomorrow night to see if it works…we certainly hope it works!

Betty made a yummy dinner of ribs, cornbread and salad. I made us s’mores with Reese’s peanut butter cups and now we’re hanging out, playing cards, reading and playing on our phones. Soon it’s time for bed.
