lifetime swim meet

A very early wake up at Sharyl’s…before sunrise so I saw Venus shining brightly on the horizon. Then I arrived at home in River Falls to hug and smooch the kids and load them up for a trip to Plymouth. Katie swam at the Lifetime pool…it was pretty swanky as she could warm up in he hot tub between events. She swam 5 events and placed 1st in the 200IM, 100IM and 100 breast. 

Then we got home and saw the Bengals & the Rams win to go to the Super Bowl in a few weeks. Now it’s off to dreamland to prepare for a great week!

Friday after school I traveled with friends Sarah & Gretchen to Cloquet, Minnesota to see our friend Sharyl and spend time snow shoeing and going

to a Nordic Sauna that has a wonderful view of Lake Superior. 

We arrived at 8:30, had some snacks, watched a movie and then snuggled in for a long winters’ nap. 

Saturday morning we got up, exercised and had some breakfast. Then it was time to snow shoe. Our friends Jen and Kim drive up Saturday morning, so we were a party of six. 

Then we had a late lunch and drove to Duluth for the sauna experience. After our sauna, we hit a rooftop pool (heated) and drove back to Sharyl’s for pizza and another movie. 

I have pretty amazing friends. I am very blessed.

On Saturday night, Osten fell asleep watching the Packers game. He was roused awake when Brad was cheering the Packers loss to the 49ers. It was instant joy! Go 9ers!

Two weekends in a row…birthday party at the office. This time Katie is celebrating 16 with four friends. Mya, Emily,Rachel and Maggie. It was music to my ears to hear their laughter. They are spending the night and I’m on call in case they need anything. 

Lunch in St. Paul at Cafe Astoria, shopping at the MOA then Mac & Cheese/charcuterie board/kale salad/birthday cake for dinner.

Crack went the water as it hit the snow. It’s a bitterly cold morning in River Falls. My friend Petra, her dog Hagrid and I bundled up for our Friday morning walk. We abbreviated our journey as the temps were lingering at -10. The snow was very rigid and the walk ways icy. But we still walked about 7,000 steps.

The water cracked when I came home to empty my cold press coffee grounds into the compost. Now it’s time to get ready for the day. I will go to school to plan and prepare for the children’s return on Tuesday.

His Daddy turned 34 on the same day

My classroom was shut down with 3 Positive Covid cases. This is the current case count in Wisconsin
