Saturday morning was River Falls Farmers Market morning and we bought lots of cabbage to make saurkraut.  We got home and Brad immediately started cutting and getting the cabbage ready.  Looking forward to the end result in 4-6 weeks!  A man after my own heart!

these are the days of our lives

camp bound

This is the first week this summer that we don't have multiple activities packed into our days and this will more than likely be the last week of no planned activities (or very little anyway).
Our kids are growing.

A has a tendency to walk on his forefeet, so adds a couple inches to his height.  We are now looking at one another in the eye.  GASP.

K is going through a very emotional going to bed time lately-I think her imagination is really blossoming, making it difficult to quiet her vast mind when she retires for the evening.

O is communicating more and more each day.  He still has his nearly unintelligible conversation, but his completely clear communication is getting more frequent, where he says sentences like "Mom, can I ride your bike into the garage?"

tube time

Yesterday afternoon, we tried out the new tube behind Bud and Betty's boat.  I tried first and then little Joe Quintana gave it a whirl.  I was so impressed by his ability to give it a try.  Then K and I went together and she was extremely nervous to give it a try--very unlike her "normal" self.  Ibby and Dehlia went next and then O and I jumped on for a ride.  Joe was ready to give it another try and ended up tubing for about 15 minutes.  He was grinning from ear to ear!

All in all, it's really great to have a working boat and tube--summer is so fleeting in the upper Midwest, we will have to use them whenever we have the chance.

rob in hood

The Friday and Saturday performances of Robin Hood in River Falls were really quite entertaining.  A played the part of the King of the Gnomes and did a great job at helping direct his crew.  He is very serious when needed.

Here is a message that I received from my friend, Alicia:
Kenny and his friend saw "Grunt" after the play...and A stayed in character and made a fuss over Kenny's friend Sebastian....Sebastian was in AWWWWW of him. His dad was so impressed and actually thanked me for introducing them!

And A was fab in the play....another little boy we knew grunted the whole walk home.

Makes a Mommy smile.

It will be really fun to hear about the adventures and see if Grandma captured memories on her camera.  Thanks Betty, Bruce and Julie for giving our kids this opportunity again this year!
