heading to the BWCA

We’ve started our trip to the Boundary Waters and are spending the night at Bud &Betty’s. We’ll leave here at 6am tomorrow and head into the wilderness.

What an absolutely breathtaking wedding day. We left RF at 8:30, got to St. James to pick up Mom and have lunch at the Hometown and then drove to St. Peter to the Armory for pictures and eventually the wedding, reception & dance were held there. We finally left the dance at 11pm. It was a magical day. 

it’s Friday!

Started the day with my weekly walk with Petra, lunched with Brad, Osten and Katie and also dined with them. Finished packing for the BWCA and the big wedding tomorrow. Now it’s hammock and reading time. 

summer is incredible

this morning, Osten had his final ETS which is a speed and strength program. A young man who had Kim

Blomgren as his first grade teacher is the leader of ETS in River Falls. His name is Carter Kirk.

While Osten was doing his ETS, I walked around the walking path behind the high school.then home and packing for BWCA. Got a haircut and also a workout with Anders. 

For dinner we had grilled burgers & garden chard & tomatoes. Brad & I played cribbage and now we’re watching the show Alone. 

Cousin Christina posted a few photos from the home farm and of Kayo’s beautiful flowers. She will be missed. 

Also my Mom got a brand new bed and it was delivered today.

So nice to clean house including mopping floors. It was time for a new rug in the kitchen and I’m already loving it! 

exercise fun

Katie spend 4 hours swimming today as she does most days. Osten had speed and strength and had friends Coulter & Wil over to play basketball. Anders and I went to lift weights at the University. It’s so fun to exercise.

incredible weather day and the great bed switch

Started off the day with a lovely hike to mound park and then to the contemporary worship service at Ezekiel. Brad, Katie, Osten and I attended. Then it was home for lunch and the great mattress switch. 

A few weeks ago, Bud and Bettys neighbors, the McPheeters were giving away a nice double mattress, frame and box spring. We picked it up and brought home yesterday. Katie’s bed frame was in the worst shape so she got the new mattress, box spring and frame.  Anders had an ancient, uncomfortable mattress and box spring so the mattress and box spring Katie WAS using is now on Anders’ bed. Hopefully everyone sleeps well tonight!

It was crazy hot and lots of fun! We walked around the Gophers football stadium, ate dinner at a fun place called the Hideaway where Osten had the best burger of his life. Katie and her teammates made t shirts and we saw a neat man hole cover.
