Yesterday we celebrated our terrific 12 year old! Happy birthday Osten John

And during mile 5 there was a bear sow and cubs siting this my very fastest mile🤒. Hoping it clears up a bit so we can get some outside time in before the final week of school. 

memorial weekend at Wood Lake

 

On the shores of Wood Lake we’ve been enjoying a lovely Memorial Day Weekend. 

another beautiful day in St. Paul

Cousin Siri came to River Falls and then we journeyed to the Highland Pool in St. Paul to watch Katie swim 3 more events. 

She got 20th place of 56 swimmers in the 100 meter free with 1:11.71

She got 9th of 39 swimmers in the 100 meter breast with 1:34.5

She got 11th of 20 swimmers in the 200 meter breast with 3:18.76. 

We had lunch at Aloha Poke and dinner at Bricks Pizza in Hudson. We did some shopping too in between. It was a lovely day. 

what a day for a daydream

Katie’s swim meet in St. Paul afternoon was picture perfect! She swam the 200IM, 50 free and 200 Free. She got 10th place in both 200s and 17th in the 50

And Osten, his buddies Austin & Jayden, Brad and Anders are at the MN Twins game for Osten’s 12th birthday celebration. They arrived early to see if they could catch some fly balls as they watched the warm up

The Twins are currently up 10-6 top of the 9th.

thankful for safety

After the horrific events in a small school in Texas, I am thankful all three of our children are home safe and sound. Anders finished up his finals today and went to work out with me. Katie went to school, swim practice and weight lifting. Osten went to school. 

I don’t want to make sense of this unthinkable and senseless violence. Humans make mistakes, but this????  

Another bright spot of my day was the nearly finished classroom artwork lead by my friend Petra.

swimming Sunday

Katie and I traveled to Apple Valley where she swam three events…the 200IM, 100 free and 500 free. Whew! Just writing them tires me out! She go personal bests in all 3 events.

The Seahawks won their football this morning in honor of Osten’s 12th birthday.

spring concert

Katie and the River Falls high school choirs hit it out of the park with their spring concert. Way to go musicians! 

boy wonder is home!

Not exactly as planned as his roommate tested positive for Covid and he had to miss a final today, but he’s home none the less. He’s quarantining in his room until at least Sunday. I got to pass him his dinner. I’m so happy he’s home! 

Beautiful day and a really fun run this morning. Love it! We had our weekly staff meeting outside. It was magical.

The first six pictures are of my morning run and of the beautiful flowers that Katie chose and planted on our little Ellsworth adventure on Sunday. The last photo is of the flowers my class planted today. I hope they start growing before we head home for the summer. We planted a variety of zinnia, poppies, sunflowers and calendula. How exciting!
