so long February

So we’re wrapping a month with a lot of traveling. Heading to the cabin, coming down to Mankato two weekends in a row and going to basketball games, hosting Bunco and Brad traveling for work. 

Today I went to my friend Teri’s 60th birthday party and then came down to spend the weekend with Mom as she’s in the hospital. Brad and Osten came down earlier today. Mom slept most of the day so I hope she sleeps well tonight

It’s been a lovely day with weather, walk with Petra and a lovely photo from Kim’s our beautiful daughter got to visit Grandma B while she’s in the hospital in Mankato. 

last game of the year

Tonight was Osten’s last basketball game of the season. I think we played the very best game! We were down by quite a bit, but came back to lose 52-62. Julie came to watch the second half and got some good photos of Osten playing. He was very happy to see her and was very gracious in thanking her for coming to the game.

Our family is very special. Received this sweet note from our Godson, Crosby and discovered this gem written by the beautiful Summer. What treasures!

My friend Teri inspired our class to make super sweet paper bag puppets today. So many great ones…including Puppet Bunyan (I misspelled). 

spa day for Mom

A lovely full day. Started the day fresh and watched the USA men’s hockey team get gold over Canada. Katie and I went to Scooters for breakfast and then got her some socks, a laundry hamper and some tennis shoes. Then I went to the hospital to help get Mom a shower cap spa. She loved me massaging her scalp and the nurses warm blankets. Visited with Kyle, Kim, Kurt, Adam & Erica today. I snuck over to the coffee hag while picking Katie up for work. Then I got a beautiful shirt designed by my friend Moni and snuggled a tiny bit with Osten on the couch. 

Great weekend spending time with two very important women in my life—my Momma and my daughter! 

lots of family love

We had an amazing day with Grandma. Her blood pressure is improving and she had lots of wonderful visitors. Vance, Kaitie, Luella, Vander, Katie, myself, Kurt, Cory, Joan, Kent & Eden. Katie and I had manicures and pedicures at the start of the day. 

Now I’m snuggling in on Katie’s couch and enjoying a movie. 🍿 

hanging in Mankato

Spending the day hanging out with Mom in Mankato. She didn’t have a hip replacement, but did get some hardware. She didn’t have a minor heart attack last night, but she seems to be ok today. Low blood pressure, but otherwise well. I get to spend the night with Katie! 

happy heavenly birthday dear Dad

Today I’m hoping Dad is rallying for our dear Mom. She fell yesterday on her way to breakfast. Her hip is broken and she is in a LOT of pain. She is in Mankato at the hospital. Katie works today so I hope she can go see her. 

I talked to her last night while Kyle and Kim were visiting. She was clear in her thought processes, but in a LOT of pain. She will be having surgery soon. I put in for a sub tomorrow to be with her.

home again

Started the day at Grand Ely Lodge and made our way home to RF. Found a sweet gift from my friend MJ in the mailbox and getting ready for a full week of school. 

snowbank day

It all started with a sunrise. Then we made our way over to the cabin to deliver a new used futon that we purchased at Second Chances. We also packed up the futon that was there and will be donating that. 

While there we saw a wolf, people doing winter camping on the ice, some dog sled teams and many gray jays. The cabin looked great. 

We had lunch at the Frisky Otter, coffee at Northern Grounds and viewed the snow sculptures at Voyagers park. Then we strolled around Minnesota North College campus. We’re now chilling out at our room at Grand Ely Lodge watching the Olympics and the Basketball All Star game.
