Tonight I went and played Bunco at my friend Lisa’s house. I got to see my friend Petra’s dog Hagrid’s brother. They really are identical in looks and demeanor.

A new jet ski, basketball, sauna, cousins…it’s been quite a weekend. 

6 years

It’s been 6 years since we said farewell to Dad on earth and he joined many loved ones in heaven. As I sat doing grades on the deck at the Olson family hangout (Bud and Bettys) I noticed my water bottle with a sticker Osten received from church for his 13th birthday. I realized it was very appropriate for the day…

Then I sent it to many loved ones and got this back from Liana Marie…

And Jenna sent this…

We miss you Dad and I want to spend as much time as possible with your beautiful bride while I can. Love you, Dad. 

new kitchen remodel

 

We’re enjoying a weekend up in Grantsburg. Bud and Betty’s kitchen remodel is nearly complete. We spent time cleaning and getting it ready to move back in.

I sent a photo to Jenna and she sent a sweet one back featuring her sweet son Hayes! Anders and I went to UWRF to lift and work out on the treadmill. I love spending time with him!

My Petra walk was back in force! We had to delay to Monday, but we have a date set for this Friday.

A baker’s dozen years ago, the Olson family welcomed a kind hearted, passionate, sports enthusiast to our family. We love you today and will love you for all time. Happy 13th birthday. 

Our day started with French toast, bike ride on your new bike (Anders’ bike that we never rides), 56 Club, church, steak/mushroom/salad/asparagus on grill, cosmic brownie cake, whiffle ball, video game playing, dinner at Mariachi and now more video game playing on your new FIFA23 game. 

Tomorrow, we will head to school with just 12 days remaining of the school year.

Osten had his final regular season football game of the year. Then we were busy cleaning the porch to open for the summer. Then Osten went to a birthday party at a Laser Tag place and lastly, ANDERS CAME HOME FOR THE SUMMER!

Osten wowed us with a terrific 6th grade concert this evening. My favorite was the Storm piece that they did body percussion of a rainstorm. 

Osten is in first row 3rd from right…microphone obstructing. 

Also hosted Child As A Guide Night in my class. Just a lovely evening overall.

On our nature walk today, I was handed many bouquets of dandelion and violet! What amazing thoughtful children!

Today, my first graders had a lesson on root systems, it was a perfect day, so we went out and collected some specimens. It was very fun!

I am surrounded by wonderful Moms! Vivian, Betty, Kim, Joan, Jenna, Kaitie, Kyeanna, Ibby, Molly, Marci, Sarah, Julie, Ivy, Trish, Sharyl. Michelle, Kim, Jen, Michelle, Gretchen and the list could go on and on and on.

These are the goodies I bought at the Barn Sale yesterday. They are from my three lovely children.

Osten’s football game this morning was pretty one sided with the opposing team winning by a large margin. The boys held their heads high. 

Then Osten went to his buddy Coulter’s 12th birthday party where they played games outside. Meanwhile, Katie and I went to a fun market near Ellsworth and also to Harrington’s Greenhouse in Ellsworth for our Mothers Day flowers. 

I picked up Osten from his party and then swung by Fox Den to pick out $50 of books from winning a Teacher Appreciation drawing. One of my students nominated me and I was randomly drawn. 

Then time to plant some of the flowers and head to Guardians of the Galaxy 3 with Osten. Now it’s time for bed. 

Brad sent some photos from the cabin and keeps saying he wishes we were there with him.
