last day at Wood Lake Christmas 2024

 

Another lovely day of hiking, hanging out with family and heading home to RF

amazing Christmas Day!

Another morning to sleep in, a nice chat with Bud and then a brisk 5.4 mile hike around Wood Lake. Then back to clean up, eat a delicious meal of  mashed potatoes, Swedish meatballs, corn bake and lefse. 

Now we’re hanging out watching football and digesting. Tonight, we’ll likely eat more yummy food and watch movies/visit. 

eve of Christmas

We all got to sleep in, eat yummy food, make crafts, 

go to church and then exchange fun Christmas gifts. 

Osten got a new Vikings t shirt and V bucks. Katie got MSU shirt, a blanket & some candles, Ally got the swim floaty and a hamburger towel, Anders got a bottle of wine and paint by numbers, Brad got meat and cheese from the Burnett Dairy & I got two new covered sheet pans—a quarter and half sheet. 

Highlight of the night though was service at Faith Lutheran in Grantsburg. 

first day of winter break

It was a great first day of winter break. Started with a Petra walk and then became baking biscotti and cut out cookies that I decorated in purple and gold for the Vikings. I also made chocolate/almond candy. 

Lastly, I started a batch of chicken gnocchi for Christmas Eve. Now we’re at the lake with Grandma and Grandpa, Anders and Ally. 

happy 52nd birthday dearest Brad

We are celebrating Brads 52nd birthday with our family Christmas, delicious Old southern BBQ and my first pumpkin pie and watching the Vikings play the Seahawks. 

Being with family is the absolute BEST.
