more swimming

Whew so many hours on a pool deck! Katie had another installment of swimming. Our home meet is over and our volunteer commitment has been fulfilled. Saw some amazing swims and swimmers this weekend. Katie swam in 5 events today. Invigorating to see her progress. Not all PRs but really impressive none the less.

future career day

Today we had future career day and I dressed up in my get up originally planned for Tuesday. 2-22-22 Twosday shirt, tutu and tennis shoes. I described myself as a teacher of math, history, reading, gym and music.

A little girl in my class dressed up as a teacher. We also had an ornithologist, zoo keeper, herpetologist, soccer player, gymnast, musician, veterinarian and KS95 Kid. So fun.

Beasley for 3!

Malik Beasley kept drilling those 3s and it was incredible.

Osten, Marci, Coulter and I went to the Timberwolves game versus the Memphis Grizzlies this evening. It was incredible. The roads were crummy, but we had a blast!

We were down by over 10 when we arrived pet way through the first quarter. We came back to defeat the Grizzlies 119-114. D’Angelo Russell, Osten’s favorite player had a season high 37 points and 9 assists.

2s day

So it didn’t go exactly as expected, but a nasty winter storm descended and school was canceled for the day. Katie and I shoveled a lot of snow and I realized I could commemorate this special number day another way…

busy day!

On Dads birthday, our family was pretty busy. First, my hike, then we went to cousin Dionne’s 50th birthday party. Next, Brad and I went out with our “fun group” friends—eight couples for Valentines Day to the Bungalow in Lakeland, MN. To close the evening several couples joined me (Brad headed home to be with Osten) dancing at the Velveteen Speakeasy in Stillwater to watch the Bad Good for Gary. We also met my dear college friends Trish, Ivy and Julie for dancing and fun.

It was a great way to spend the day.

happy birthday Daddy B

88 years ago one of my favorite humans was born. During the morning of his birthday, I hiked to the top of River Falls.

training to be a stroke and turn official

One nice thing about Zoom meetings is you don’t have to travel to get training. I’m currently training to be a stroke & turn official for swimming.

the Wildcats Boys Basketball team is now 17-4!

Osten, Coulter, Marci and I went to the Wildcat Boys Basketball game last night. It was a close game against the Raiders from Medford. It was tight the entire game and so fun to watch.

valentines, super bowl and 1/2 time show!

Happy Valentines Day to my very special loves...Brad, Anders, Katie, Osten, Vivian, Bud & Betty. Also sending love to beloved friends. The world would not have the same joy if it weren't for you.

After driving up to Grantsburg Saturday night, I spent the day Sunday trooping around the lake, making Valentine cookies, watching the Super Bowl (great halftime show). Monday morning I got up early to white knuckle drive home as we had teacher inservice today.

After school today, I went to dinner with Brad, Osten and Katie to Juniors to celebrate Valentines.

My friend Kara sent this message from a blogger that she follows and I just have to share:

We needed this.. I watched ONLY the halftime show. I was doing my taxes.

As a generation, the last two years some of us have had to bury our parents, friends we grew up with, and lost careers.

We have had to start all over while being faced with new responsibilities associated a "new normal" during these "unprecedented times."

We needed this 13-minutes.

On a Sunday in the middle of probably the most mentally and emotionally taxing time of our lives, us Gen. X/Millennials were comforted, recharged, and didn't have a care in the world.

We were taken back to a simpler time in our lives.

We were encouraged knowing that the one and only D-O-Double-G is still riding with the D-R-E.

We partied like it was our "birfday" with 50.

We got it crunk with Mary and reminded we don't need no hateration.

We were reminded by Eminem that when you have one shot, one opportunity to seize everything you've ever wanted - take it. Lose yourself in the moment, own it, and never let it go.

These are the reminders we needed.

We are the strongest most influential generation to date.

We still got it.

We needed this halftime show to remind us. ðŸ’œ
I took my Advil PM and went to bed, because we've got work in the morning.

end of girls weekend 24

Finished our weekend with face masks and cookie packing. Also hugs to my Beata whom I’ll see in just a few days when I pick her up from MSU.
